North Sydney Girls High School is a unique and stimulating school which balances traditions of academic excellence with innovative practice. The academically selective school is one of the highest performing in NSW and has distinguished alumni who figure prominently in law, medicine, business, education and in the creating and performing arts. Girls travel from across wider Sydney to its lower north shore location from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds.

Our students are involved in an enormous range of activities including music, sport, debating and charity and community work. Overseas cultural and language study tours are often combined with students from North Sydney Boys High School.

Student voice is heard and respected. As befits future leaders, North Sydney Girls High students are socially aware having built a school in Bangladesh and set up Amnesty and other advocacy groups in the school. They regularly engage in vigorous debate on social justice issues.

2014 was an exciting time in the history of our school as we celebrated our Centenary. The spirit of the school motto, Ad Altiora (Towards Higher Things), imbues everything we do now and into the future.
