On Sunday the 14th of March, the senior rowing squad headed down to Sydney International Regatta Centre for the pinnacle regatta of the season, Schoolgirls’ Head of the River. The weather was less than optimal, pouring down on us the whole day, but we managed to huddle up and stay warm, and reasonably dry, at least until our respective first races.
NSG entered a modest three events. Ritsi, Tanvi, Amaya and Ally rowed well in the Year 10 Quad event. Our Schoolgirls Quad of Tonya, Sophia, Laura, Sonia and Zali, did well to make it into their finals (it is the first time NSG has entered a Schoolgirl quad since the 2017 Head of the River). And we are especially proud of Medha and Mandy getting through to the finals in the Year 10 Double Scull, to then row NSG to the podium and a bronze medal.
Congratulations to all the seniors for a successful final regatta of the season. We hope to see many of you returning next summer.
