Last term in year 10 Design and Technology the students have been learning and developing their practical wood working skills. The first task brief was to design and make a chopping board (or serving platter) with a set of coasters. Year 10 students learnt how to use a biscuit joining machine to construct their chopping boards and explored resin pouring for a surface decoration technique and finish to the timber. All students in the class had different approaches to the task and have worked hard to complete this project. Great job year 10! Now we’re onto our new unit “Design for the Theatre” where students design and make theatrical pieces for use in the Theatrical Studies year 9/10 class. Keep your eyes peeled in term 2 to see what these students produce next.
