In Term 2 the Year 9 Graphics Technology students produced mixed media posters to promote this year’s NAIDOC week with the theme of Heal Country! The class learnt about poster design and experimented using different techniques and media to create a variety of layouts and effects on their canvasses. Some media used by the students included Posca markers, spices, acrylic paint, paper, rice and other objects. This project was inspired by two designers - celebrated Indigenous Australian designer, Alison Page, who has achieved in various design fields including architecture and interior design and renowned graphic designer, Paula Scher, whose work includes typography and hand printed maps. You can view the students’ posters on the nsgcharities Instagram account or, when we return to school, in the TAS corridor and on the notice boards outside of DT2.
